Drink of the Week:
Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon
An excellent inexpensive choice, Barefoot is my go to company for wine that most people will enjoy. I hear that their Mascato is quite good too if you enjoy a sweet white wine.
And speaking of red wine, I will be featuring a red wine on the Fridays this month, so tell me, what is your favorite red wine under $20 a bottle? There may be something in it for you if the wine you recommend is my favorite for the month 🙂
Blog of the Week:
On Peace: A Guest Post by Tonia Peckover over at A Deeper Story Blog
This story touched me in so many ways. First in acknowledging the deep pain a family can have when a child behaves violently and there is very little the parents can do about it. Secondly, the description of God meeting her where she was and giving her peace even in the midst of their crisis, even though the crisis continues to exist and there are no answers. This has been true during difficult times in my life as well. And thirdly, the acknowledgement that some problems were not created by us but we can bear the full brunt the consequence of other people’s choices, even if our choices and motivations are good.
Song of the Week:
Little Bird House in Your Soul by They Might Be Giants.
Always reminds me of hanging out late at night in college with my friends, belting out the comic songs of this group. This one is a classic!
