Drink of the Week:

Our good friend Tammy came by and brought us pizza and La Crema Pinot Noir and also informed me that Pinot Noir is the healthiest wine to drink because it is highest in anti-oxidants. So, really, it is a health drink.

Blog of the Week:

I know that it is an old blog, but Rachel Held Evans re-posted Women of Holy Week, Part 3: Mary’s Heart is Pierced (Again) and it actually made me cry. One doesn’t have to be a biological mother or acknowledged by the rest of the world as a mother to know the pain of motherhood.

Mary was not the first, nor the last, mother to hold the broken body of her child in her arms. She was not the first, nor the last, to weep in the company of mothers as they stumbled their way to an open grave. It happens every day—when famine claims another little life, when the sudden arrival of blood represents the end of a pregnancy, when cancer strikes yet again, when the phone rings and the news is bad.”- Rachel Held Evans

The first two parts of her series are equally as good. Check them out if you have a chance.

Song of the Week:

Sufjan Stevens with Come Thou Fount.  It is one of my favorite hymns, mostly because of this line “Oh to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be! Let thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee”, which I completely identify with.
